About the Youth Singer’s Tune-Up Activities
-
Pre-Registration Required
Singers will work in a rehearsal setting alongside members of the National Lutheran Choir learning 3 - 4 choral selections led by clinicians Dr. André Thomas and Dr. Brandon Boyd. The selections will then be sung for the public at the free Festival Concert later in the afternoon.
-
A box lunch will be offered to youth singers so that lunch transportation does not have to be arranged. On your registration form, please indicate that you would like a box lunch.
Youth Singers may also choose to get lunch elsewhere. Note: There are not many restaurants in walkable distance from Roseville Lutheran Church, so please arrange transportation before arrival.
-
Tune-Up participants are invited to return for an afternoon rehearsal to participate in the Festival Chorus. The afternoon rehearsal will revisit and solidify the music learned during the morning workshop and prepare singers for the Festival Concert.
-
This pre-concert talk will be given by Tune-Up clinician Dr. André Thomas, also the author of "Way Over in Beulah Lan': Understanding and Performing the Negro Spiritual."
This activity will be open to both Tune-Up participants and Festival Concert ticket holders.
-
The Festival Concert begins at 4:00pm and will feature selections sung by the National Lutheran Choir, the Festival Chorus, and the University of Minnesota Gospel Choir (directed by Dr. Adrian Davis).
Registration due by January 17th.
